Welcome to Seren Wen Art, the home of South Wales based artist Ceri Donovan. I create realistic and detailed drawings using coloured pencils, graphite, PanPastels, and mixed media, with a particular focus on wildlife art and bespoke pet portraits.

About My Work

Drawing has always been part of my life. Growing up in the South Wales valleys, I was rarely without a pencil in my hand, and I later went on to study Fashion and Textile Design. After working in graphics, followed by a career in engineering and technology research, I eventually found my way back to art — and haven’t looked back since.

Today, I specialise in creating vibrant, highly detailed artwork, often inspired by animals and the natural world. I’m particularly drawn to subjects with strong character, texture, and detail, whether that’s the softness of fur, the intensity of a wildlife gaze, or the joy of colourful, intricate still-life subjects.

Where possible, I work from my own reference photographs. Photography has long been an interest of mine, and I love visiting wildlife parks and zoos with my camera.
